"...Meanwhile, sailing tours and lessons were also on offer, thanks to Sean Rice, a Sailboat Captain at ‘Sail Rockaway.’

“I operate a sailing chartering business on Jamaica Bay out of Rockaway and I offer lessons, sunset tours and we’re located in Marina 59,” Rice told The Wave. “We open up May 4 and we run it out till November so anyone feel free to hit us up next month.”

A life aquatic adventure on Jamaica Bay shows some finds from one of our favorite stores to source upcycled and second hand clothing, and also some special locations you can only reach from the waterside!

The Norfolk Oyster "Christina" and other vessels are available as prop rentals for film/tv/commercial photo shoots.

This summer Rockaway Beach has some exciting new amenities to entice New Yorkers to visit. Tara headed to check out the newly completed stormproof boardwalk and stopped by Marina 59 to try out some new activities meant for fun in the sun. Four summers after Superstorm Sandy devastated the Rockaways, there is more to see and do now than ever before. So this summer hop on the A train and head to the Rockaway shore.
