is food and drink provided to the children?
We have some fruit and basic snacks available. Additionally there is a full service deli right in front of the marina. One of our staff can accompany your child to the deli before or after class if they would like to purchase a sandwich and drink. Cold cut sandwiches are currently selling for $7 at the deli. Please inform us if your child has any dietary restrictions or food allergies. If your child brings lunch, we are happy to put it in our fridge until they are ready to eat it.
How early can I
drop off my child
for sailing?
You can drop off your child up to 30 minutes before they start sailing and we will be here. Our morning session starts at 9am which means you can drop off your child as early as 830 am, but please not earlier than the 30 minute window as we may not have the personnel present to accommodate you. In the afternoon session starting at 130pm, you can also drop off your child up to 30 minutes early, i.e. 1pm.
How do we
enter the marina?
As you'll notice when you get to the marina, we have a closed gate that needs to be opened with a special clicker. One of our staff will be stationed towards the marina entrance in order to open the gate for cars and pedestrians. For the main gate to open, there needs to be the weight of a car over the sensor in the concrete below at which point the clicker can activate the gate. You also must be pulled up close to the gate to effectively be over the weight sensor.
Without a car (on foot or bike) to enter, you will have to use the pedestrian entrance to the left of the main car gate. This pedestrian entrance also needs a special clicker to open but don't worry because once again, our staff will be there and looking out for you. It is a somewhat inconvenient system but ultimately it serves us well for the safety and security of the marina.

Do you have life jackets for the children?
Yes! We have all different sizes for kids and we make sure to get the best fitting life jacket for your child. Our type 3 life jackets are the type that is most comfortable and they come equipped with a whistle attached. If you prefer to bring your own life jacket, you are welcome to do so.
When exactly is pick up time?
Pick up is immediately at the end of their session. We will prepare kids to be ready within the last 10 minutes of the completion of the session, reviewing the happenings of the day while they wait to be picked up!
What if I can't
pick up my child
immediately
after the session?
Please let us know if you can't immediately pick your child up at the end of their session. If you need us to watch your child for more than 30 minutes after the end of their session, we will have to charge you $30 per hour to hire additional staff. We aim to be as accommodating and flexible as our resources permit but our schedule and staff can only do so much. Please make arrangements with us beforehand if you can't pick up your child at the end of their session.
If my child is attending sailing and surf camp on the same day, is there a safe way for them to get from the marina to the beach without me (parent) accompanying them?
The best way is to coordinate with other parents. Additionally one of our staff members can escort them to the beach after sailing, *but not from surfing to sailing*. To bring them from surfing to sailing, you'll need to coordinate with the surfers for that. Please let us know if this is something you intend to do so we can plan accordingly. Our program is designed for kids to attend both camps on the same day with time for lunch and transport to and from the beach and the bay. Our staff members would greatly appreciate any cash tips you're willing to offer for this additional service we provide.
